After several delays, W3C officially published the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 on October 5th, 2023! WCAG 2.2 builds upon WCAG 2.0 and 2.1. This means that the guidelines are mostly the same, with some new additional guidelines.
What’s new with WCAG 2.2?
WCAG 2.2 adds nine new success criteria. W3C also removed the previous criterion 4.1.1 Parsing from WCAG 2.2 because it is now considered obsolete.
For more information about the nine new success criteria, check out our Understanding WCAG 2.2 series: Part One, Part Two, and Part Three.
